Roonie the Rabbit is a comic strip about a bunch of cute little animals with some very big feelings.
There’s Roonie the rabbit—an impulsive rabbit with questionable priorities—who navigates life alongside Flynn the squirrel, a squirrel whose careful planning is matched only by his certainty that things won’t work out anyway. Together with friends like Hot Chocolate the lizard (who finds unconventional solutions to social situations), the hyper-competitive Pittman the fox, and various others, they explore the absurdities of existence through dry humor and surprisingly relatable anxieties.
These comics find comedy in everyday struggles: the gap between who we want to be and who we are, moments of profound connection and spectacular miscommunication, the challenge of lowering expectations versus meeting them. Whether it’s dinner plans, creative pursuits, or simply getting through the day, these characters approach life’s complications with a mix of optimism, pragmatism, and honest self-awareness.

I’m Porter Mason. I have published comics since I was 13. I also used to perform and teach comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York and Los Angeles. In my spare time, I raise millions of dollars for nonprofits online.
My wife, Kim, has worked in hospitals and schools for 15 years helping kids and their families cope with illnesses and major life events. She helps me focus the comics on the emotions that kids struggle with.
