RABBIT: I enjoy spending time together.

SKINK: Well, I love you... And that scares me.

SKINK: ((So spending time together is excruciating.))

SKINK: ((But being alone is even worse.))

I Just Want Someone to Take Care of Me

HOT CHOCOLATE: I just want someone to take care of me.

HOT CHOCOLATE: Not you. I'm scared of you.

HOT CHOCOLATE: And not you. Or you. Or you. You all make me nervous.

HOT CHOCOLATE: But... someone. (sigh)

Vicarious Anxiety

ROONIE: You know, I have NO worries.

HOT CHOCOLATE: Wow... that's really inspiring.

HOT CHOCOLATE: From this day forward, I vow to do better.

HOT CHOCOLATE: I will worry enough for the both of us.

Nightmares

HOT CHOCOLATE: Nightmares scare me.

HOT CHOCOLATE: I don't HAVE them.

HOT CHOCOLATE: But I worry about having them.

HOT CHOCOLATE: And that scares me.

Nothing Big

LIZARD: Because I'm so nervous all the time, nothing BIG ever happens to me.

A pause.

LIZARD: Which is pretty GREAT...

Bedtime

LIZARD: Ah, bedtime... Where you can finally put all your anxieties to rest and recharge.

SOUND: Click

The lizard sits in the dark, wide awake.

LIZARD (thinking): At least that's what I hear.

Possibilities

HOT CHOCOLATE: I like to think through all the possibilities before I do anything.

HOT CHOCOLATE: It takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. But in the end, it's important.

HOT CHOCOLATE: Because it keeps me from doing anything.

HOT CHOCOLATE: And that's my real goal.

Waves

HOT CHOCOLATE: Anxiety comes in waves.

THE OCEAN: I'm having a BIG PARTY, wanna come!?
HOT CHOCOLATE: U-um, well...

THE OCEAN: C'MON!! It'll be FUN!! EVERYONE will be there!!
HOT CHOCOLATE: I-I- (gurgle) OK! OK!

THE OCEAN: GREAT!! It's also a costume PARTY.
HOT CHOCOLATE: What!? (blurble) N-no@
THE OCEAN: Ooo, and can you give a TOAST!?!

Dark

HOT CHOCOLATE: It's so dark these days.

HOT CHOCOLATE: I get so much more anxious when there's less sun.

THE SUN: OK, look, some of that's on me, sure.

THE SUN: But the guy's not exactly a barrel of laughs in June either.
