Stars

Mar 25, 2026

A rabbit and lizard lie down in a field and stare at the night sky. RABBIT: I think stars are shy little PIXIES that only come out at night and flutter around.
LIZARD: Th- they're actually enormous, constantly exploding balls of gas and unimaginably hot plasma.
LIZARD: You and I are here because t- tiny particles shot out of these immense furnaces over thirteen billion years ago, colliding across the vast expanse of empty space.
RABBIT: The pixie thing is so much more believable.

Evidence

Jul 21, 2023

A skink examines one orange leaf amidst a tree full of green ones. SKINK (thinking): SCIENCE IS PERFECT! It is an unfeeling quest for the truth! I am ready to two out my life's work if new evidence appears!
SKINK (thinking): Though... if I were to just find more data that supported my PAST work... I would look WAY smarter... for WAY less effort...
SKINK: sigh...
The skink crumbles the orange leaf. SKINK (thinking): Science is perfect. Ethics is, however, a poop sandwich.

Scientist

Sep 16, 2022

A skink examines a bug with a magnifying glass. SKINK (thinking): I am a scientist. I watch. I question. I think of answers. I test my answers.
SKINK (thinking): I understand an immense amount about the world and those who live in it.
On a far away hill, a rabbit waves to the skink. SKINK (thinking): But... I am also shy.
The skink hides in a hold in the ground. SKINK (thinking): So mainly I just hide in this hole and don't talk to anybody.
